I totally see the cave dwellers, dawdling about and chewing on pebbles. Sounds like maybe this is the cave dweller's shop and the main character is looking at the wares. Oh now I know, this reminds me of the goron kingdoms in Zelda. Could be the music for the goron shop as Link is scrolling through bombs and bomb bags. I like this. It's quite ambient to the fit of the title. Great work!

Decibel7 responds:

Why thank you! I believe that simpler pieces can be extremely powerful. Glad you liked. :)

I think there's a difference between repetitive and chill. Repetitive to me has a negative connotation to it, like it just keeps doing the exact same thing over and over until it ends; annoying. Chill is like something that may sound that way, but it is slightly changing at moments to keep the listener interested while also allowing the listener to drift off elsewhere instead of having to concentrate. This is definitely chill. The melody is interesting enough to keep me entranced, but the whole piece also changes sometimes, in slight ways, to make it captivating. This song does define what DnB is. Nice job!

SynchroSpectre responds:

Hmm, hmm, thanks, I've been getting large criticism about repetitive melodies in previous tracks and I have been practicing night and day to learn how to use that repetitiveness to my style. Glad to know I'm on the right track. Thanks for the review.

Indeed. Slowly lamenting, basking under the moonlight. I see this as melancholy but also could be set to a romantic scene. Or maybe a scene where the lovers must divert paths. I'm not usually one to like slow, moving pieces, but this captured my attention. Probably because of your live instrument playing, which is perfect. Even your background orchestration is perfect. And the pauses give a lovely tug-of-war feel, because the lovers cannot bear to be apart. You crafted this piece flawlessly. Wonderful work!

How interesting. I love the guitar line. In fact, I thought it would be really neat if it were just a solo guitar track driving through the entire piece. The rockish part towards the end was a nice touch, but maybe mixed a little harsh. I like how the song overall doesn't stay in one place. It changes a lot in an atypical way. Great work!

Emid responds:

Thank you so much for great insights. Yes my mixing is poor but trying. All lines are just flowing of my thoughts. Many thanks again and glad you liked it :)

I thought it looped okay. Not perfect, but good enough. Wonderful sounding piano. So clean and clear. And the song itself is catchy and structured. Kind of wish the idea could be expanded on a tiny bit more. But great work!

This is not a waltz, but it's pretty cool sounding. I like the inclusion of an electronic beat and that synth towards the end. Neat work.

franckencastle responds:

Thank you very much.
I had no idea for the title, it's true that "Waltz" is not appropriate :)

Watery. I don't think airy. But I'm sure it's different to each listener. It's simple and soft yet captivating. Holding someone's attention seems the toughest to do with ambient pieces yet it is almost essential. I really like this. I picture walking through an aquarium. Very soothing and blue. Great work!

Deephod responds:

yea i probably should have put it under misc. instead of ambient but the categories here are so screwed up that it gets hard to really pinpoint which one it belongs to sometimes, thanks though :)

I really enjoyed this for some reason. Your voice has a lot of versatility and that genuine character feel. You really sound like you know what you're doing. I mean, you said these are all from recent NG works so you obviously do. So...wonderful work and good tidings to you.

Gypsy jazzy craze is what I think this song sounds like. It's got a very new feel. A different blend from the usual blends. I wish the loop could have gone on longer, or perhaps even turned into something full-length. But it sounds really interesting as it is. Great work.

fergyanimated responds:

Cheers mate! Literally, this was something i did quickly this morning, trying out a bit of atmospheric sound design! But i may make it into something full length, if i have the time!

An interesting sound to the idea of a frozen journey. The beginning was a great attention-grabber. Even though you say it's a work in progress, I think it's nicely concise aside from its abrupt end. I think a little more reverb on some of the parts would make a fuller sound, especially on the strings. Great work!

yaboss responds:

I published as a work in progress because at first i want to add another theme to be near 3min. And also i like to have some tips from others, like this one, i'm going to try some reverb now ;)

Just an awkward clown that showed up late to the clown pile. I love to provide goofy-spook music but I'm open to anyone that challenges my comfort zone. Send me details of your lifestory when you get the chance!
